MIRACLES STILL HAPPEN....they do!

Hhahahahahahahahahah!

Now that was funny! What was funny you ask? The comment that just showed up on the 'comments' that I saw before starting this. Something to the effect that I was spotted sneaking through the air ducts at the Beau Rivage and cutting the power.

Yes, yes...that was me!!! Oh boy. Wait, I forget, they take EVERYTHING I say on my blog as the gospel. Okay, I was NOT at the Beau Rivage crawling around in air ducts. Actually, I am very claustrophic. That and I was busy playing online poker.

So at 9:00 pm, the $20 Mini FTOPS was just starting on Full Tilt. Which would pull in 16,000+ players and pay out $50,000 for 1st! WOW! I went out like 2450th or something , about 250 from the money. Oh...to, what else? K10! Yeah silly me, thought calling this guys 4th consecutive button shove with AQ was the right play. Wish he'd TOLD me he has K10, I would have insta-mucked!

The fantasy draft that one of the dealers at the Beau got me to take part in was about to start, and Squirrel comes pulling into the garage. I look at the number of teams in this league. 7? Seven!?? So every week someone gets a bye week? That sucks.

So I sell Squirrel on putting her own team in there. SO we do. We have Bama Belles and The Spite Monkeys. Draft only took an hour. All the teams are stacked. We shall see how it goes. I am now in 5 Fantasy Football leagues. That is almost, borderline, ridiculous.

So she comes in and tells me the whole story about the power going off or something. How they made everyone leave the casino, before being allowed to come back in. Then she got cut, so got to come home. Nice. Interesting scenario down there. Hope they got it all sorted out. (sure I do) Still waiting, by the way, for my 5k from my Main Event seat. Its only been a week now. I leave for Atlantic City on Saturday morning. Why is it I suspect I won't be getting it before I leave?

So what's the miracle? Well, I run ridiculously bad on Full Tilt. The other night...I log on. Buy into a $20 sng with 45 players. And in one of the first few hands I get KK. 4 people limp. I raise 4x. Two callers. the flop comes something like 3-6-8. In fact, that sounds about right. This guy bets out. I raise big. He insta shoves. Well, that isnt the moves a guy makes with a set there...so I call. He has....ahem, Ace Deuce, offsuit. Yeah. Did he hit an ace? of course not. He went runner runner 4, 5 for the straight. I just sat there looking at my computer, blankly...stupidly really, if you wanna be picky. And I reached for the Xbox360 controller, and started killing Nazi's.

Uh oh...watching late night TV. Girls Gone Wild now has competition. Its called 'REAL GIRLS' and these girls are dirrrrrty. Yeah baby, they are the hottest 'real girls' in America, doing things you can only see if you call right NOW!!!!!

Well, last night, at 3am, I did something completely amazing. I played an $11 SNG with 45 other late night mutants...and when it was all over there was no one left but me. $171. 1st place. In a SNG on Full Tilt. Wow. Meanwhile, over on Pokerstars, I was winning a satellite into this Sunday's big $215 WCOOP event. Not sure if I will end up playing it, since I will be up in Atlantic City, but maybe.

Then tonight...I cash light in a couple SNG's on 'Stars, then I get a big stack in the $3 rebuy, and was only in for a total of $6! I was up to 60k, and in the money...with the avg at about 32k. With KQ on a 4 way raised pot...I flop A-J-10 rainbow. WOW! First guy to act SHOVES 28k! After having raised to 3850 preflop. Whatever, I wasn't folding the current nuts. He turns over Jd10d. Two pair. Turn, diamond. River, diamond. Jeezuz. Instead of sitting on around 100k, I got crushed in half. I would stick around for awhile but eventually go out about 227th out of like 4500. Maybe more, not sure, it paid 675. But in the other game I was playing, one of my favorites...Pot Limit 5-card Draw...we started with 287 players in a measly little $5.50 MTT. I consider Draw poker to be one of the easiest games to play against bad players. Very easy to read their hands, easy to spot mistakes, and yet...they keep making them over and over.

It's so funny. Guy raises, then discards 3 cards. Okay, duh...he has JJ/QQ/KK/AA and thats it. Guy discards 2 cards, a lot of times you pretty much have to put him on three-of-a-kind. However, you will find the occassional idiot, who is making this play with hands like A-J-J-4-3. The guy is holding the pair and the ACE as a handy kicker. Huh? Clearly these clowns dont play video poker. I mean 5-card Draw is basically like playing video poker, except that you have the benefit of playing against total retards. The big 'play' is the guy who will 'stand pat' as a bluff move. Its the most underused move in that game. I use it quite a bit. Especially heads up. Its also the only game you will find me min-raising. There are some hands that are simply unplayable. So if you are in the BB and have total shit, and a guy min-raises, its an easy fold. In No-Limit, different story altogether. You're both sharing cards (the Flop) so you have a 55% chance probability-wise against any two random cards. Anyway...blah blah blah...sorry to sound like a poker player, or try to anyway. The point is, min raising, especially late in a tourney in Draw, is a huge play.

I will cut to the chase. I cut through this field like Rambo through a VC's jugular. It was sick. And a lot of fun. Never really sucked out that much. Just got one bad player after another to give me chips. And when it was over, I won that shit. YES! WON A TOURNEY on POKERSTARS! I KNnnnoooowwwww! And I don't care if it was $5! I don't care if there were only 287 players. I feel good! Winning is nice. Especially on that damn site. Hell, on any site. So in two nights, back-t0-back, I've done something I haven't done in a long time, WIN online!

Tomorrow night we are going to Kenny Chesney with some friends. Should be a really fun time. Squirrel and I have been to see him over the last 5 years maybe 4 or 5 times, and his concerts are always great. When I worked for Southern Wine and Spirits over in Pensacola a few years back, one of the brands we sold, CRUZAN, sponsored his concert tour. That meant we were getting GUHHH-REAAAT tickets. I even got Squirrel and her sister-in-law backstage to meet him. So, it goes without saying that we have had some very good times courtesy of Kenny Chesney. I'm not real crazy about his new album...I just hope he doesn't play too many of those songs.

Its not looking like we are going to be able to do dinner with Chad and Vanessa, the new Go-Daddy girl. I wonder, and wish now we were going to see them, so I could ask her "just what being a Go Daddy girl entails" and what her responsibities are? I guess I could just Facebook her and ask, huh!? Well, they aren't getting in until Friday...and I happen to be leaving for Atlantic City that day, so damn. Oh well.

My football pools are getting huge. Everything starts this week, so all the last minute people are jumping in. I've already topped all of last years numbers, so the prize money this season should be killer. Maybe I will get lucky and actually win something this year!

Had a moment of joy with my 'kids' today. Took out the kiddie pool, filled it up...got into it...laying in the sun...and started throwing them the ball. Back and forth, back and forth...and then finally they both climbed into the pool with me and just started crawling around in the cool water. It was hilarious! My lab Jasper is so funny. And so obsessed with that ball. Did that for about two hours and got a ton of sun. So I feel like I got my 'tan on' now for Atlantic City! Squirrel tried to cut my hair tonight, but I think I am going to let my hair grow long and crazy. Maybe.

Smoke spent the weekend here, left his cell phone charger. Rooster stayed here Mon and Tues night, after having a dispute with his roomate. Yes, I know...Rooster is in his 40's. Don't ask. Rooster left his watch. The way things are piling up...I'm just curious, would anyone else like to spend the night over here?

2:33am. Squirrel has just declared "This house is C-L-E-A-N" as she has been darting around for the last 3 hours cleaning the house from top to bottom like we are expecting British Royalty to arrive tomorrow. Um, we aren't.

Watched the Obama Address to Congress tonight. I wonder if that dick from South Carolina who shouted out "you lie" in the middle of Obama's speech will be looking over his shoulder from now on? Dude, I mean...as much of a smartass as I am, I do have to say, clowning the President while he's in the middle of a National Address is probably not the smartest thing to do both politicaly and for your overall health. Either that or I just take these spy books I read a little too seriously. As far as the message? Who knows? Until the Republicans and Democrats can put their differences aside, I just don't ever see a solution coming on this subject. Too many have too much at stake. I don't even know what to think now. I just hope that whatever gets done is the best for everyone.

Took Squirrel to dinner and a movie the other night. We did Outback. What a switch. Noticed a place I have heard of...High Cotton Grill...across the parking lot. I've heard it was good. Went to go eat there, but it was Monday, Labor Day. Closed. Damn. The other place we wanted to eat was a new sushi place in Ocean Springs called Chef Scott's, I think the name is. As we are searching for a new Sushi place after Saki made it clear to us on our last visit that our business wasn't important to them. So...I have to do this:

SAKI SUSHI, IN OCEAN SPRINGS. SUCKS! TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT, AWFUL SERVICE! OPEN TILL 9 BUT WILL CLOSE AT 8:15 ANd NOT CARE THAT YOUR DROVE 20 MILES TO EAT THERE! SAKI SUSHI DIE DIE DIE!!!!

Okay I feel better. See, when people do internet searches for stuff, like SAKI SUSHI....that little statement I just threw in there? It will come flying up under searches. And see, that is the only way I can hurt these assholes. If enough people spread the word, and people just quit going there, then I win....cuz eventually they will be out of business! So, I hope this Chef Scott guy's place is great. Apparantly either we or just Squirrel know the owner. I couldn't tell you who is he...but she seems to think I know him. Okay, whatever. Just HAVE GOOD SUSHI PLEASE! They were closed too. So yeah, it was Outback.

Then we went and saw 'Inglorious Basterds' with Brad Pitt and a whole bunch of foreign actors. I am guessing that movie will do well in France and Germany (lots of subtitles, if you can't read, do NOT go see this movie!). It was a very good movie. Brad Pitt's character was very neurotic and aloof. Really some great lines. And he had a couple of scenes that turned into great monologues. He is a good actor, and keeps getting better. But the foreign actors were amazing. The actor who played Hans Landa (the Jew Hunter) was incredible. Could easily see some Oscars come out of this film. Their were some pretty graphic scenes (Jew Bear, who liked to beat Nazis to death with a baseball bat comes to mind), which you can always expect in a Tarantino film, and it was a bit much for Squirrel, but even with all that she still enjoyed the film. I won't spoil the ending for those who haven't seen it...but I will say this, it's too bad WWII didnt REALLY end this way! Monkey gives it, TWO RIPE BANANAS! (new movie critic rating system)

I think I'm done. Probably won't be writing again until I am up in Atlantic City. Really excited to get up there and hook up with Joe Cutler and Jason Young, my boys from Vegas. Should be a lot of fun! I think Jason is trying to score us tickets to a Yankees game while we are up there. That would be cool. I really just want to see the new stadium. Might be fun to go out for a night in Manhattan. Its been years since I've been up there. After living there for 5 years, I didn't WANT to go back until I had been gone about 8 years. Now I love it when I go up there. The clubs are rough though. Specially now since I have NO HOOKUPS with the doormen like I used to. Three guys trying to get into a Manhattan club. Good luck! Then you get in and the drinks are like 15 bucks a pop. Sweet. I better win something as soon as I get to AC!!!!!

KEEP YA ALL POSTED!
